AUTHOR'S TONE AND OPINION ( Menentukan Sikap dan Opini Penulis ) Pada soal reading comprehension seringkali ditemukan jenis pertanyaan yang meminta peserta tes UTBK , SBMPTN, SNMPTN untuk mengidentifikasi sikap/emosi dan opini penulis  terhadap topik bacaan. Jenis pertanyaan tersebut dikenal dengan Author's tone and opinion. Karakteristik pertanyaan jenis ini adalah pilihan jawabannya ditandai dengan satu sampai tiga kata berbentuk adjektif, contohnya : cheerful, joyous, respectful, optimistic, comic, nostalgic, gentle, playful, passionate ( positive), critical, depressed, angry, bitter, pessimistic, cynical, skeptical (negative), objective (neutral), favorable, unfavorable,respectful, etc. A.
